A Fully Balanced Scouting Experience Troop 44 offers the complete Scouts BSA program, blending fun, growth, and achievement. Scouts enjoy monthly camping trips, meaningful community service projects, exciting summer and winter camps, high-adventure outings, and troop-led merit badge sessions. New Scouts follow a structured Roadmap to First Class in their first year, while everyone builds leadership skills, teamwork, and outdoor expertise through youth-led activities. Troop 44 (Boys) proudly partners as a linked troop with Troop 45 (Girls), sharing resources, adult leadership support, and a unified commitment to the Scout Oath and Law. This allows the Boys and Girls to operate in their own Troops but created a family friendly and richer, Scouting experience for the Both Troops. Troop 45 builds on the same traditions of excellence that define Troop 44, with its own growing achievements—including trailblazing Eagle Scouts—and both troops grow stronger together.

Scout


Scout is the first rank a Scout earns; this happens shortly after joining Troop 45. The Scout will learn the basics about being a Scout and how to operate within Troop 45

Tenderfoot


Tenderfoot is the second rank a Scout earns; the Scout will be introduced to basic Scout skills such as camping, cooking, knots, first aid, nature, hiking, fitness, citizenship, and leadership. Troop 45 will work with the Scout on these skill at Troop meeting and campouts.

Second Class


Second Class is the third rank a Scout earns; the Scout will work on camping, outdoor ethics, cooking, knots, fire making, navigation, nature, aquatics, first aid, emergency preparedness, fitness, citizenship, and personal safety. Troop 45 continues to build on the skill learned for Tenderfoot, the Scout will become more proficient at the skills.

First Class


First Class is the fourth rank a Scout earns; the Scout will work on camping, cooking, lashings, navigation, nature, aquatics, first aid, emergency preparedness, fitness, citizenship, and leadership. Troop 45 provides opportunities for Scouts to perfect their skills, these skill will become second nature at this point for the Scouts.

Star


Star is the fifth rank a Scout earns; this is the first rank that the Scout is required to serve in a leadership position for Troop 45. The Scout also has to earn 6 Merit Badges 4 of which are Eagle required.

Life


Life is the sixth rank a Scout earns; the Scout will work continue to serve in a leadership position in Troop 45 and earn an additional 5 Merit Badges 2 of which are Eagle required. The Scout will also demonstrate the EDGE method to teach younger Scouts various Scout skills

Eagle


Eagle is the seventh and final rank a Scout earns; the Scout will utilize all the skills earned within Troop 45 to earn Eagle. In addition to continuing to serve as a leader in Troop 45, the Scout will complete the remaining Merit Badges needed for Eagle, as well as lead an Eagle Project of their own.

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.
